Training course: th study of human skeletal remains from collective burials

A training course on the study of human remains from collective burials will take place in Alès (Gard, France) from 12 to 16 June 2023.

Under the supervision of Mélie Le Roy (Bournemouth University) and Aurore Schmitt (Archéologie des Sociétés Médterranénnes – UMR 5140), the course will introduce the different methods of identification, analysis and characterisation of human skeletal remains.

Cas studies will be from the late Neolithic period / beginning of Bronze Age and will come from several caves in the Cèze region.
