Call for Papers: Flesh, Bones and Ideas

The Interdisciplinary Working Group on Mortuary Features and the ADES Laboratory (UMR 7268) are co-organizing an international and interdisciplinary symposium entitled “Flesh, bones and ideas. The corpse, from biology to anthropology, 40 years later”, to be held in Marseille, from 17 to 19 June 2020. Four decades after the publication of Louis-Vincent Thomas’ Le cadavre, de la biologie à l’anthropologie, this conference will aim to evaluate the posterity and current influence of this work, through a wide spectrum of disciplinary approaches.

The call for papers is open. Proposals can be submitted until 15 January 2020, by sending an abstract to atelier.mort@gmail.com
